HOME SLICE
In 2010, Break it Down started recycling for Home Slice at their South Congress location. Little known, this partnership was the final push to Jeff leaving graduate school at UT-Austin, pursuing Break it Down full time. Because of Home Slice’s weekend volume as a primo destination in South Austin, this was also the start to Break it Down’s 7 day per week service, which continues to this day.
Since that time, Home Slice has added on composting, a second location on North Loop, and a third location in Houston. They’re still kicking out our favorite White Clam Pizza, with friendly staff, excellent vibes, and great waste diversion! What’s Up, Home Slice!?

Break it Down was founded in 2009 by partners Jeff Paine and Melanie MacFarlane.
What began as a recognition that no composting services were available for local businesses has grown to include the most comprehensive recycling and composting service in Austin.
